Freedom: 5 Ways to prioritize

The secret to being the best is to actually getting started. It is DECISIONS that leads to ACTIONS to SUCCESS – Mark Twain

How many times in life have we found ourselves with the most brilliant solutions to our problems but yet we do not get started with it…? Not only do we compete with the self-doubt in the 6 inches between our ears, most of us reading this were not mentored how to take-the-bull-by-the-horns.

Robert T. Kiyosaki has been quoted in saying – “Do you have the courage to take the first step? It’s often not a lack of knowledge holding the one back, it’s fear and an inability to get past it that does.

I have spent most of the past years of studying the great mentors and ‘gurus’, wondering how do I get started…? How do I do proper planning…? How do I track and record …? But the BIGGEST question was where do I start…?

It was only after that I realised I am not the only person asking these questions… For this reason, I have developed and built the how to “Master Plan My Life”. But even with these templates and tools, we cannot move past the procrastination or lack of internal motivation … IF, we still do not where to start.

From Stephen Covey, Dr Joh F. Dermartini, Robert Kiyosaki, Blair Singer, Tony Robbins, Brian Welsch, Barry Mitchell, Frank Kern … you name them, all these coaches and mentors have somewhere along the way stated these 5 steps to get from the starting line to achievement!

In summary:

1. Doing the hard things first:

After starting our day with our spiritual practice in the morning, what is the most significant, meaningful task in our personal / business capacity? Start with this task. Set a theme for the day, the week, the month, the next 90 days and track it. This way we are instilling a habit and recording our progress for reflection and improvement

How do you record, track and reflect … let’s leave that for the end of this blog.

2. Segment the Day:

Structure time in our day for emails, phone calls, work, meetings, breaks. Be selective in our responses, what is most meaningful/significant to us, performing in the quadrant call “The Zone” of sufficient resources and planning. Knowing our natural energy flow is of vital importance here. No point in planning a meeting at 7 am if we struggle to get ourselves going in the morning. This will only lead to negatively impacting us on a psychological level … setting ourselves up for failure.

… YES, it is planning, it is hard work, it will seem unnecessary at times and as to much hard work for no instant gratification – but once we have laid down a proper foundation, we can build our wildest dreams on it and still make it a reality.

3. Putting distractions at Bay:

Did you know that “No!” is a full sentence. I absolutely love this fact and so we all will once the realisation of how much clutter can be avoided by using it. And when we are faced with maybe, it defaults to No. Must is always Yes!

So next time we are faced with a task that is not significant or meaningful for us or the business … we can answer – No!

4. Know your Successes:

What have we accomplished today, this week, this month, this quarter, this year? We will only be able to know concretely if we record, track and reflect in a comprehensive system or analysis of ourselves. Setting sequences and reward structures true to our own nature will further reinforce these new habits we are building.

5. Close with Gratitude:

Ending our days with a reflection of the things we are grateful for, is like putting a surprise gift for ourselves on our bedside tables. That wonderful warm feeling of satisfaction even when we realise maybe we could have done it a better, but at least we tried and tomorrow is another opportunity to improve.

I know, I know … we have heard these 5 points several times in our life, but my question is – do our lives reflect the fact that we have learned these lessons?

And should we still be asking … but how do we actually implement it?

I promise … I am not going to say – JUST DO IT!

No!

To build a system take time, effort, trial and error … and it most case failure before we have even started. I know, it is not easy and as I discussed it with Dr John F. Demartini, working with just a journal or a diary helps but it is not forward planning … rather more hindsight.

From feeling like a Zero … to being a Hero could seem like pie-in-the-sky dreams … But in the words of an unknown author: “When you walked through the hell of your own negative thoughts and survived, no pain on this earth will ever again worry you. Living happily ever after is a sign that you have not let the past beat you. Definitely, a big courage is required to win this battle”

I cannot motivate you to start using the free templates of From feeling like a Zero … being a Hero, I can only inspire you to try by providing them to you.

The starter pack includes the essentials needed to start building your own success journal.

In building your continued success!
