Taking a long hard look at our reality…

Today, I am at a loss for words… I am sitting here thinking to myself and contemplating ways to grow out of this destruction.

How… How can I best be of service?

How can I make a difference? How can anyone person stand up in the face of danger and destruction, and make a difference?

After reading all the posts and looking at the videos… feeling the pain of each who has lost; I have to remind myself of the lessons learned I learned from the old masters, from religious tales and age-old scriptures – gnostic, dogma, doctrine and more.

“Shiva” known in the Hindu trinity as ‘The Destroyer’ is the one who creates, protects and transforms the Universe.

“Jesus” as the Son of God in Christianity also had to first be ‘destroyed‘ before He could rise up.

Aristotle, Lau Tso, Confucious, Augustine of Hippo, Socrates, Plato, Pythagoras, Kukai, Sun Tzu, Simone de Beauvoir, Allan Watts and so many more that could be mentioned… Even in the Pagan and Occult information; for that fact, other sections in the Christian Bible and the Quran – tells us that destruction is always followed by new growth.

As the phoenix rises from the ashes, a new cycle will always follow when the old one dies down.

As the grass fields are burned to black crips during the dry and cold winter months… after the first rains of spring, the new grass sprouts will change to field back to green again. Because that is what the grass is focused on in the Spring and Summer sessions. To flourish and grow taller and stronger as their roots are now set deeper than the years before.

But when the field did not burn to crips in the Winter months, it takes so much longer for us to see the new green through the old, dead brown-grey mass.

The Human Body and Spirit also abides by the same Laws of Nature. As we grow year after year, by Nature, there are cells and even ideas and thoughts that are shredded left behind and/or gets destroyed. Our Spirit goes through the same metamorphosis, as we grow and develop in our lifetime. Some beliefs and thoughts are retained while others are lost along the way, as they no longer served a purpose to us.

So, here I am sitting today, looking at the destruction – allowing myself to feel the emotions of pain, anguish, sadness, anger, disappointment, and yes, even fear… not just for myself, my family, my friends, my clients and acquaintances, but for both sides of this story. Reminding myself not to become the emotion but just allow me to experience it. Allowing myself to grow and learn from it so that I (and those I guide) can grow from this experience.

It might not seem as much, and in truth, it does not feel like much – but – once the fact and truth of this reality have settled in, after the freaky waves of confusion, fear, worry and even adrenaline has settled; it will be those who can stand as leaders, those who guide others, those who are not doing it for their own glory but for the betterment of their community, those who are not in the spotlight – they will be the ones who will be able to guide others to the love and light; to heal, to grow and to rise again out of the ashes…

So for now, I will allow my tears to flow, I will allow my heart to ache, I will allow my empathic side to experience this current situation… for tomorrow my analytical and logical side will better comprehend what needs to be done, to be able to move forward.

Children of our beloved country, South Africa, for young and old, for all the races and creeds, for all of you out there – my thoughts and prayers are with all!

In Sympathy, Empathy, Love, Gratitude and Grace,

Yvonne E. Venter-Louw

An Entrepreneur’s Biography

Is Spearheading a Business meant for You?

Not because you’ve got the capital to start a business means that you will be assured of being successful with your business. The truth is, not all people are meant to be successful in running a business. Logically speaking, not every individual is tailored to become one fine entrepreneur. Running a business requires special skill, talent, and ability.

While other people have these factors, a lot of individuals who try out the business world also lack them. It is just like managing plants. If one is a green thumb, then he will likely grow the plants well. It is just the same with business. If you are gifted with such special talents, then you can prove your worth in this line.

Before pursuing any dream in entrepreneurial, you’ve got to take time to analyze things about yourself. When you start investing energy, time, and money, it means you must expect something in return. But then you cannot be assured of winnings in terms of business because there is no guaranteed assurance with business.

Simply taking things into consideration, risks cannot in any way be eliminated. After all, doing business means facing your fears, facing the challenges, and getting it on with the competition. One particular tip for budding entrepreneurs is to always start with smaller capitals so that when losses confront you, it will not be too disappointing on your part. Small businesses are open to the possibilities of improving them to make them big. Armed with careful planning, a great dose of preparation, and the needed insight, entrepreneurial will prove to be on the good side.

So how do you start assessing if you are meant to run a business? It is easy. Simply assess your personality. What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? By recognizing these things that lie within yourself, you will be able to determine the utmost possibilities about your future in the business world. For some pointers, follow these guidelines:

If you are a self-starter, then you most probably have no previous experience in the trade. It means that you will start from scratch. Hence, the development of your supposed to be projects in the coming days and the organization of your time will lie in your own hands. You need therefore to keep track of every single vital detail.

Consider your relationship with people. You will not work by yourself. You need to deal with people. They may be your business partners, your customers, bankers, company staff, consultants, accountants, lawyers, or other vendors in the business market. You need to develop a good rapport. The reputation that you will craft for yourself will be the determining factor for your niche in the market.

Next, how are you when it comes to decision-making? Are you good at it? You must expect that you will be moving in a world that is filled with pressure so your decisions must be rendered quickly, effectively, and independently.

Another thing to consider is your physical well-being. Running a business requires too much of your time. If you are not physically equipped then there is no hope for you. What will happen to you after handling almost 24 hours a day and 7 days a week of work? Do you think you will be able to hang on?

The next pointer to bear in mind is your capacity to organize and carry on with plans. A poorly planned business leads to failures. But then good organization means financial rewards.

How is your drive? Will it be enough for you to be able to handle all those emotional stresses? When you are the business owner, the responsibility solely lies on your shoulder. A good foundation and motivation will always improve your drive to succeed in the business.

Consider also the effect of your being a business owner on the people around you. If you are a family-oriented person, surely you will lack time for them. You must ensure that they will understand you in this aspect. Research studies show that the first few years of the business are the most crucial as the business interferes with personal relationships. Therefore, you must learn how to balance things so that everything will work out just fine.

Moreover, for an entrepreneur to succeed, he must always be persevering and patient. Rushing things will not help. It also goes to mean that the earning of the profit need not be rushed. One must always start things slowly until such time that great opportunities come and knock. There is always the appropriate time to shine.

Powerful Prayer to Purify Negative Karma (Guest Post)

Original post: Helen Wolitzer (2018)

How can we purify negative karma? Negativity can make our lives a real burden: we live without truly living, we see the negative side of everything and we do not expect anything good to happen to us. There are a lot of people who are like this: they look for a defect in each quality, a problem in each solution, expects the investment to go wrong, that the relationship goes down the drain.

If you usually think so, then stop it already. Negativity will get you nowhere; see below a powerful prayer to thank for all the good things life has given you so far, and thus you purify negative karma.

PURIFY NEGATIVE KARMA: DO NOT FORGET TO THANK

When we have positive thinking and get rid of negativity, we come to believe more in life and in ourselves, and achievements come closer to us. Therefore, after making the prayer of spiritual cleansing and being able to lead a lighter and more prosperous life, do not forget to thank. Thank God for life, for the positivity and fulfillment of your desires; gratitude will bring more good energies into your life.

“I thank you, O God, for my wonderful family and for all that you have done for us. Thank you, God, for this day when we all wake up healthy. Thank you, God, for your unconditional love for us. Thank you, God, for saving us.

Thank you, God, for the health, protection, balance, and perfection of our body and spirit. Thank you, God, for the harmony, peace, love, and happiness that reaches us. Thank you, God, for the abundance, prosperity, recognition, and for all your provisions in our lives. Thank you, God, for my wonderful guardian angel whom you have entrusted to me. Thank you, God, for being a light and emanating light in your name.

Thank you, God, for improving my faith, for my spiritual evolution, and for using me as an instrument. Thank you, God, for enabling me and making me a destroyer of the deeds of evil. Thank you, God, for making me master what I once had. Thank you, God, for giving me understanding and deliverance from what made me suffer. Thank you for removing negative thoughts from my mind.

I thank you, oh God, for giving me wisdom, courage, and deliverance. Thank you for having good thoughts. Thank you, God, for making me humble and acknowledging my own mistakes. Thank you, God, for making me act properly, and for making me say what is to be said. Thank you for my spiritual, personal, and professional fulfillment.

Thank you, God, for my emotional, affective, and sentimental fulfillment. Thank you for my blessed relationships and for my divine and timely meetings. Thank you, God, for the difficulties you have given me, for I know that through them you have made me evolve and conquer. Thank you for making me competent and responsible in all that I do.

Thank you, God, for all the opportunities you have given me. Thank you for making me recognize and enjoy these opportunities, just as they happen in my life.”

….

NB: Please note that you can replace the “God” word with whatever you prefer to call The Almighty of your beliefs.

Freedom: Tips and Life Hacks…

When it comes to planning out our lives there are a couple of tips and hacks that may assist you a great deal…

(Read to the end and find additional resources to assist you)

Here is an extract from the Day Designer blog with some of these tips and hacks…

Work backwards to prep for the day.

Wake up 15 minutes earlier. What can you do that will help you do that? Go to bed earlier. Prepare for your day the night before by deciding what’s for breakfast, setting out your clothes, and knowing what’s on the agenda. You’ll feel more eager to start your day!

Get started with the small stuff to gain momentum.

When you’re ready to start your day, check a few quick five-minute tasks off your list. This feeling of accomplishment will set you up for a more productive day!

Touch your planner before you touch your phone.

We always love this tip! Leave that phone on the charger until you’ve had some time to yourself and thought through the day ahead.

Review what matters most.

Write down your values, strengths, goals, priorities, and big projects. Review them on regular basis to keep them at the forefront of your brain!

Take breaks.

Taking a break will increase your focus and creativity! Get outside. Go for a walk. Call a friend. Enjoy your coffee without a screen in front of you. Refill your water. Or find something fun on your to-do list, such as shopping for a gift, and build that into your break!

Change your mindset to get back on track.

When you feel defeated, think of something you’re grateful for. When you feel overwhelmed, plan tomorrow. When you feel like quitting, think of the feeling you’re trying to achieve.

You can do this!

Naturally: 12 steps to achieving your dreams

Original Blog: November 20, 2015 by Paulo Coelho

When Joseph Campbell created the expression “follow your blessing,” he was reflecting an idea that seems to be very appropriate right now. In “The Alchemist,” this same idea is called “Personal Legend.”

Alan Cohen, a therapist who lives in Hawaii, is also working on this theme. He says that in his lectures he asks those who are dissatisfied with their work and seventy-five percent of the audience raise their hands. Cohen has created a system of twelve steps to help people to rediscover their “blessing” (he is a follower of Campbell):

#1 Tell yourself the truth…

Draw two columns on a sheet of paper and in the left column write down what you would love to do. Then write down on the other side everything you’re doing without any enthusiasm. Write as if nobody were ever going to read what is there, don’t censure or judge your answers.

#2 Start slowly, but start.

Call your travel agent, look for something that fits your budget; go and see the movie that you’ve been putting off; buy the book that you’ve been wanting to buy. Be generous to yourself and you’ll see that even these small steps will make you feel more alive.

#3 Stop slowly, but stop.

Some things use up all your energy. Do you really need to go that committee meeting? Do you need to help those who do not want to be helped? Does your boss have the right to demand that in addition to your work you have to go to all the same parties that he goes to? When you stop doing what you’re not interested in doing, you’ll realize that you were making more demands of yourself than others were really asking.

#4 Discover your small talents

What do your friends tell you that you do well? What do you do with relish, even if it’s not perfectly well done? These small talents are hidden messages of your large occult talents.

#5 Begin to choose.

If something gives you pleasure, don’t hesitate. If you’re in doubt, close your eyes, imagine that you’ve made decision A and see all that it will bring you. Now do the same with decision B. The decision that makes you feel more connected to life is the right one – even if it’s not the easiest to make.

#6 Don’t base your decisions on financial gain.

The gain will come if you really do it with enthusiasm. The same vase, made by a potter who loves what he does and by a man who hates his job, has a soul. It will be quickly sold (in the first case) or will stay on the shelves (in the second case).

#7 Follow your intuition

The most interesting work is the one where you allow yourself to be creative. Einstein said: “I did not reach my understanding of the Universe using just mathematics.” Descartes, the father of logic, developed his method based on a dream he had.

#8 Don’t be afraid to change your mind

If you put a decision aside and this bothers you, think again about what you chose. Don’t struggle against what gives you pleasure.

#9 Learn how to rest.

One day a week without thinking about work lets the subconscious help you, and many problems (but not all) are solved without any help from reason.

#10 Let things show you a happier path

If you are struggling too much for something, without any results appearing, be more flexible and follow the paths that life offers. This does not mean giving up the struggle, growing lazy or leaving things in the hands of others – it means understanding that work with love brings us strength, never despair.

#11 Read the signs

This is an individual language joined to intuition that appears at the right moments. Even if the signs point in the opposite direction from what you planned, follow them. Sometimes you can go wrong, but this is the best way to learn this new language.

#12 Finally, take risks!

The men who have changed the world set out on their paths through an act of faith. Believe in the force of your dreams. God is fair, He wouldn’t put in your heart a desire that couldn’t come true.

So… are you going to take the lead and start your journey today?

Meaning – Coping with Stress by Thriving on Good Changes

Have you ever noticed yourself going to the icebox to get something to eat when you are all upset? You’re not alone there are many people just like you in this world. They are like you wishing they could do something to change that from happing to them but it isn’t going away what you can do to help you to change all of this from happing to you. You have to train yourself to do something different only you can do this.

What causes this to happen to people?

Most of the time this happens is when people are stressed out or being upset. The first thing they want to do is to run to the icebox and eat everything they see in it. Which isn’t healthy for you in the first place. You need to think way down inside your body and figure out what can be done about this habit. There are other ways to go, you just have to figure out what to do about it and do it.

What can one do to learn to redirect me?

Redirecting is hard for most of us to do but it can be done in time. You have to do it over and over again until your brain knows that is what you want it to do instead of going and binging on food. So when you feel you have to eat why not go and pick up a good book and read it. You’re going to have to make yourself do this, but you can do this if you want it bad enough. If you find that reading isn’t what is good for you at a time like this, then you will have to find something that will work for you. Meditation or breathing exercises are good alternatives to redirect to.

What are some things I can do to find what is good for me?

There really isn’t anything good to say about this other than you have to do some things on your own to find out what would be best for you what might be good for you may not be good for someone else. You might want to ask your friends what they do to give you some ideas. They may suggest something like taking a real hot bath or reading a good book. Some of them may find that exercising is a good way to release some of their stress. Pre-recorded Hypnosis or Subliminal therapy sessions and EFT exercises could provide you with release stress and could be done anywhere at any time, where you can take a time out.

There are many things that you may find works for you that don’t work for your friends. You might think that cleaning the house is a good way to get rid of stress that is okay too.

Why is stress so bad for me and why do, I need to get rid of it?

Stress is something that you might want to get rid of as soon as it hit you. Why is this?

This is because stress isn’t good for you or your health. It will cause you many problems if you don’t get rid of it as soon as you can.

Stress can be a cause of heart troubles, high blood pressure, out of control cholesterol, and can cause you to have some form of depression. If this happens then you will have to go to your family doctor and may have to take some kind of medication for it.

Therefore, you are better off if you can learn to control it before this happens. There is a way to do it you just have to have some willpower and set your mind to it and do it. Thrive to make satisfying changes. In the meantime, here is a gift from me to you …

Wealth – Business Entrepreneurs Ideas Trends

Ideas for Entrepreneurs:

Realities of Home Based Internet Business Trends

Before your eye gloss with the thought of establishing your own home-based business via the Internet, let us first have a reality check and check the trends.

Entrepreneurs venturing into the World Wide Web typically have dreams of having time all for themselves, sitting on their couches with laptops on and money pouring continuously with every click. That’s possible, all right but this normally is not the case.

Though we are talking of home-based business here, it is still not true that we can get things easily. Or that we can earn hundreds of thousands even while we sleep. Don’t be lured with business opportunities on the web that offer too-good-to-be-true fantasies. If they’re dealing with a motto like “be a millionaire in 1 month” then it is time for you to have doubts. Success doesn’t come easy, you know that. Only those who have a perfect combination of events and ideal attitude towards works would be the people who can be showered with success.

The specific idea of becoming a home-based internet business entrepreneur is that of leaving an old job of stressful deadline buzzing and annoying bosses overlooking your works, in exchange for a flexible job that you are in total control of.

That’s true. You really would have these benefits when you switch to home base jobs and perhaps, you’ll gain even more.

Well, working home-based on the internet is totally relieving. You won’t have to abide by company cultures or deal with people you refuse to see every working day. You will also get around spending on transportation, clothing, and eating allowances and most especially, you’ll be freed from the worries of stress and tension.

However, it’s not always easy to sail on with internet businesses. They are equally risky as compared with offline business ventures. We are not putting a scare in here, it’s just that we want you to open your eyes to truths that you would sooner or later face. Truths are inevitable parts of internet business transactions.

After quitting your job, which most home-based Internet entrepreneurs do, you have to be ready with losing many things. However, if a home-based internet business works well for you, those losses will become insignificant as compared with the gains you have acquired through taking risks.

One great risk is you’ll stop getting your fixed source of income. There are good and bad sides to this. And depending on your case, they may either make or break your business life.

All jobs have some degree of uncertainty in them after all, businesses would have to deal with risks of failure or of success. However, entrepreneurs have a good argument of controlling your own income is better than having other people fix it for you. That way, you’ll have greater elbow room for growth. However, you must also be prepared for periods of loss.

Remember that even the largest establishment fails. No one can ever be assured that Internet sales would keep on coming. You would surely have great and bad months and the only thing that you can be assured of is that you always have to deal with the unpredictability of trends. If you are not a risk-taker, a steady paycheck may appeal to you more than an unsteady business earning.

As an entrepreneur, you have to face the truth that once you embark on an internet home-based business, this very thing will be your life. It’s like turning work into your obsession to eliminate the work attitude and all factors that go with it. Once you leave work, you really have to leave your old job. Most entrepreneurs practice breathing their own business so they need not experience fatigue while working and will therefore be able to dedicate long hours to their work without even getting fed up with it.

Making money would be impossible unless you take charge of really selling your business. Well, that would surely be a task that you would have to dedicate yourself to. Initially, you invest days of unrest for getting your home-based business through its second juncture. And the same would be true until you can actually settle yourself and realize that everything is going great.

Remember that there is no sure path to success, even if we are to talk success in its many facets, than to toil and really sweat for it. In the end, you’ll be happy that you did. After all, all your toil will boil down towards your earnings.

Wealth: Trait of a Successful Entrepreneur

Have you ever wondered why some entrepreneurs succeed and why some do not?

Have you ever thought of the things that would make one the best entrepreneurs in a chosen field?

For the lucky some, owning a business might run on their veins but for the most who are just common people with a high desire to start a business of your own, then, careful evaluation and extra time on studying the nature and principles of entrepreneurship is a must. However, this doesn’t mean that an individual who wants to become an entrepreneur should have a thorough background on these nature and principles.

Whether you are conscious about it or not, success and failure always depend on the entrepreneur. Do you want to know what those are?

Here are the traits of a successful entrepreneur:

Goal-oriented:

  • Whether short-term or long-term, a successful entrepreneur never misses setting his goal.
  • This trait can be developed at a very young age. For instance, a child set academic goals for himself or set a specific timeframe to achieve something. Say, for example, the child’s parents cannot afford to buy him a toy he wanted. He will try to get this toy by saving money or making money for himself. When he grows up, he carries this trait in doing business. This same child is more likely to become successful for he knows how to get certain things he wants to.
  • But it does not stop there, successful entrepreneur knows how to revise or rewrite his goals whenever he thinks that there is something that needs to be changed.

Opportunity seeker:

  • An entrepreneur knows how to search for opportunities. It may be an opportunity to earn more or to learn further. He will not settle on the things that exist around him. He knows how to find opportunities that may not be visible for most people.
  • Taking advantage of these opportunities
  • Once he has found opportunities, he knows how to take advantage of them. But it does not mean that he will become impulsive for he knows how to identify what type of opportunity will give him benefits.
  • He will ask himself these questions:
  • Will it bring more good than harm?
  • Is it worth the time and money?
  • Will it be able to help me reach my set goals?

Knows his strengths and weakness:

  • Another good trait of a successful entrepreneur is knowing his strengths and weaknesses. This type of trait will enable him to define his limits and knows how to extend his limits. He knows the borderlines but knows how to keep the borderlines expanding. An individual who does not know his strengths and weaknesses is like a person facing a mirror without clearly seeing his face. A successful entrepreneur sees his face clearly in the mirror and recognizes his imperfection. He would then polish his imperfections and convert them to something that would benefit him because a successful entrepreneur does not only know his strengths and weakness, he also recognizes these as parts of his personhood.

Always wants to be the best:

  • A successful entrepreneur does not settle for the second-best. He always finds ways how to be the best in his craft. With the help of his recognition of his strengths and weaknesses, he will achieve what others might not achieve. He has a certain attention to detail and quality. He would as much as possible treat all costumers the same.
  • Enjoys what he does and knows how to enjoy as well
  • A successful entrepreneur loves his work and enjoys what he is doing. He would not be successful if he does not enjoy his business. On the other hand, he does not make his business his life. He knows how to rest once in a while to enjoy life itself.

Knows when to get help:

  • A successful entrepreneur recognizes that he could not do some things alone. He knows that he needs a hand in order to get things right. He knows and respects other’s view on matters regarding his business. They do this to minimize the risk of committing mistakes. He knows what are the type of person that is right for the job.

Wealth: A Call to all Young Entrepreneurs

Leverage for Your Small Home Based Business

Being a young entrepreneur, your small business is only as good for all those people who know about it. And for those who don’t know, well they simply don’t care.

After all the hardships you have gone through while starting up your business. After all those attempts to give it all up and return back to more secure corporate living. After all the risks you have to pass through. And now that you have touched them all, the only aim that you now have is to make your small business grow.

Well, that actually is not as simple as it may sound. Making your small business grow will lead you to more compromises. This entails you taking further risks. It is harder this time of course because you are delving into deeper realms of risk. Sometimes, the absence of assurance for success will make it more difficult for you to get on through the next level.

One of the many paths to growth from your youth in entrepreneurship towards maturity is to spread words of your small home-based business. You may possess the best of the products in the industry but there would be no sense to them if the only people who know are those that are within your block. Your product may have the potentials of breaching million-dollar sales but if no one buys it, there is no sense in dreaming of becoming a tycoon.

Start promoting yourself and your services. Some small home-based businesses young entrepreneurs begin promoting their products even before they were fully launched. However, there are many who do promotions only when they have tapped the estimated potentials of their items. You always have the choice between the two though.

There are two basic techniques that you may use to take your small home-based business into the scene. One is through paid advertisement and the other through public relations.

Paid advertisements require the process of negotiating with advertising agencies and stations to have your product promoted. Mediums like televisions, websites, newspapers, and radio spots are among the most typical options you have.

In public relations, however, you would have to ask an author to have your story and your business venture written on articles or an expert as a search reference. The only problem though is that you have to be convincing or your story must have that extra pop so as to be worthy of mention.

While publicity may oftentimes require you to share the toll of finding a writer to work for your home-based business, there is still no way for you to disregard the benefits of having your story advertised. It also has a cost-effective feature since you seldom pay for such an advertising medium. But the better part goes with the truth that you can be better remembered with an article rather than in a TV commercial. People normally have more trust in a write-up rather than paid advertisement showed on TV or in the internet. Publicity also offers the potentials of reaching through various people and if you have that good streak of luck, the national audience may be reached by your story.

Even the online world recognizes the actual power of television advertisements than using links and postings on message boards. There are many times when the website has become successful because it was featured on a television show. Thus, discarding all the “almost useful” power of drawing people through creating juggling lines of links in the web.

The media works on herd mentality. Once a program caught sight of what your home-based business has to offer, other programs may have the hitch of spreading the word further. Thus, you can expect other shows to modify your own story to supplement their own. This is very effective indeed since you will have your advertisement without spending a dime while reaching a wide spectrum of audiences.

The problem though comes with attracting journalists and writers towards your home-based small business story.

Plan your target points. Your aim is to court writers towards writing your tale. Never put them off by sending bulks of email to virtually all journalists that you know. Point only towards those who are in the beat with your story. Identify what publications will find your venture useful and know which kind will use your story. Try making a list of newspapers, radio programs, and television spots that will work well with your aim. If you truly want publicity, go direct with personal emails or letters to those who are most likely to find your small home-based business story interesting.

Wealth: Important Characteristics Every Entrepreneur Must Have

Are you planning to start and run your own business? Do you know the right qualifications and characteristics an entrepreneur must have to succeed? Does your profile match that of a successful entrepreneur? In this article, we will explore and discuss the essential characteristics that every entrepreneur must-have. There are several important traits and values that are common among successful entrepreneurs. Before you go and start your enterprise, it will be very helpful to think and reflect on whether you have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur. If not, you can also start developing these character traits.

  1. Successful Entrepreneurs are Self-Confident – to succeed in the highly competitive business world, confidence and trust in oneself is an indispensable trait. Self-confidence means trusting your own powers and capabilities. The world of entrepreneurship is not alien to failure and disappointments. To survive in such a cutthroat world, an entrepreneur must have the ability to look within himself and find the drive and persistence to pursue his enterprise. An entrepreneur must have the gumption to face any adversity and tackle any problems that may be encountered in the world of business.
  2. Successful Entrepreneurs are Risk-takers – being an entrepreneur means having the ability to trust your hunches and acting on them. Great business ideas sometimes start as a hunch which enterprising individuals acted upon. There is always the risk of loss in any endeavor, and entrepreneurs have just the right confidence to take calculated risks to achieve their objectives. However, an entrepreneur’s risk-taking does not depend on luck, but on sheer effort and hard work.
  3. Successful Entrepreneurs know the value of money and are careful about their finances – to succeed in any business; an entrepreneur must understand the value of money and the cost of things. Typically, successful entrepreneurs learned how to earn and value money at a young age. Most of them started out by earning loose change as teenagers mowing lawns, doing groceries, babysitting for neighbors, etc.
  4. Successful entrepreneurs have the so-called head for business – many entrepreneurs are gifted with intuition: they know what product or service is going to ‘click’ next. However, this ability does not involve clairvoyance or extrasensory powers of some sort, but rather, keen observation and understanding of what is going on around him. A good entrepreneur is always on the lookout for new ideas and new ways to make money.
  5. Successful Entrepreneurs are competitive – the world of business is a very competitive environment. An entrepreneur must be aggressive enough to pursue his goal despite having many rivals and competitors. An entrepreneur must know how to stay ahead of his competitors, either by introducing new ideas and exploring new ventures, all in the spirit of expanding his business.
  6. Successful Entrepreneurs are honorable and have a good work ethic – although it is a fact that the business world is ruthless, the successful entrepreneur will strive to make every business deal honorable. The mark of a successful entrepreneur lies in a good personal work ethic that ultimately leads to good business practices, excellent reputation, and good association with industry peers and business partners.
  7. Successful Entrepreneurs know the importance of leisure time – hard work and determination are very important values every entrepreneur must-have. However, a good entrepreneur knows when it’s time to take a step back from all the rigors of business and enjoy some downtime with their family. Besides, we all do need a little relaxation to refresh the body and mind before plunging back into the challenging (and stressful) world of business.

These are just seven of the most important characteristics of an entrepreneur. Of course, the characteristics every entrepreneur must have are not limited to the ones mentioned. Having these characteristics is not a guarantee that an entrepreneur will be successful. But with these characteristics, an entrepreneur has just the right ingredients for success. All one needs to do is to find the right mix of these values, excellent timing, perhaps a bit of luck, and, of course, faith in oneself. So, do you have what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur? Go over these characteristics and values mentioned and reflect if you do have these.
